Some details about Thanksgiving Day in the United States
Background
 What do people do
Give your thanks
Background(Origin) of Thanksgiving Day
Thanksgiving became a holiday almost 400 years ago, in 1621. The holiday originated in Massachusetts when the pilgrims arrived and settled in 1620. One year later they had a Thanksgiving Feast.
Great meals
It is traditional for families and groups of friends to get together for a large meal. This often consists of a turkey, stuffing, different types of potatoes, and other seasonal vegetables.
The meal also often includes pumpkin pie. Many of these foods are native to the Americas and were not available in Europe at the time of the first settlers. This adds to their symbolism of giving thanks for a good harvest in a new country.
Thanksgiving Customs
The customs of Thanksgiving are, eating, seeing your family, singing, thanking people for coming over and coming to their celebration! It is a thankful holiday!
My      Thanksgiving (A Song)
and this is my thanksgiving
now the trouble with you and me, my friend
is the trouble with this nation
too many blessings, too little appreciation
and i know that kind of notion—well, it just ain't cool
so send me back to sunday school
because i'm tired of waiting for reason to arrive
it's too long we've been living
these unexamined lives
i've got great expectations
i've got family and friends
i've got satisfying work
a lot of things have happened
since the last time we spoke
some of them are funny
some of 'em ain't no joke
and i trust you will forgive me
if i lay it on the line
i always thought you were a friend of mine
sometimes i think about you
i wonder how you're doing now
and what you're going through
the last time i saw you
we were playing with fire
we were loaded with passion
and a burning desire
for every breath, for every day of living
