What is home schooling?
Homeschooling or homeschool (also called home education or home learning) is the education of children at home， typically by parents but sometimes by tutors， rather than in a formal setting of public or private school.
Although prior to the introduction of compulsory school attendance laws， most childhood education occurred within the family or community，[1] homeschooling in the modern sense is an alternative in developed countries to formal education.
My opinion of home schooling
Although to date there has no accurate statistics of home schoolers in China， the increasing reports of the cases in the media suggest the number is growing.
But in my heart， I don’t think home schooling is a good alternative to formal education. And in some how， I think there are many shortages of home schooling.
Why I don’t like home schooling?
First(For parents)
Homeschooling children is a full time job and not fit for parents who have their own careers. If you want to teach your kids at home， your ambitions and aspirations will have to take a back seat. It takes a lot of time and dedication from the parents' side to make homeschooling a success. Other family members and household responsibilities may also be affected， as one has to give their full attention to the needs of their children.
Second(For child)
In today's world， competition is seen in every field， and school prepares children to face these competitions. However， homeschooling does not give the children a chance to compete with other kids. They will also not be aware of where they stand (educational position) amongst their peer groups. This may affect their future lives， making them incompetent to survive the cut throat competitions they will be facing in their careers.
