“Detective Conan” is a detective mystery manga created by Aoyama in 1994. It‘s serialized in the weekly magazine “Shounen Sunday.” There’s also an anime series based on the manga. Both manga and anime are wildly popular in Japan， and they are both still ongoing. The manga and anime are being released in North America under the name "Case Closed"
The story is about a 17-year-old genius detective named Shinichi Kudou who gets poisoned by a mysterious underground crime organization and shrinks into his 7-year-old body. He‘s forced to hide his true identity， and fools his almost-girlfriend Ran into believing that he’s just a 7-year-old boy named Conan . He ends up living with Ran and her father in their home slash private detective agency. He continues to try and find a cure to un-shrink his body， solving various mystery cases along the way. Very few people know Conan‘s secret， and to this day， Ran is still clueless.

After being discovered snooping around the shady business of a pair of criminals， Kudo is given an experimental drug that transforms the teen sleuth to childhood size! Luckily he retained his intelligence for solving the most difficult crimes. Not wanting to reveal his true identity， Shinichi adopts the name Conan in honor of the creator of his hero， Sherlock Holmes. Although Conan takes great pleasure in solving crimes， he yearns to uncover the clues behind the "Men in Black" that forced him to take the experimental drug that forever changed his life.
Ran， who is high school friends with Shinichi， was with him on the night that he disappeared. Later， she accidentally stumbles into Conan and adopts him. She doesn't know that Conan really is Shinichi even though she eventually suspects it. Ran is trained in martial arts and often uses her skills to help defeat criminals. Ran lives with her dad， Kogoro Mouri， a detective who isn't quite bright.
Sherry （雪莉）
A fan favorite， this mysterious little girl is just plain mysterious and quiet. She， like Conan， also took the APTX-4869 pill (she used to be a woman with the codename of Sherry among other names). So， it might as well be that she‘s in serious danger if the members of the Black Organization ever come lurking around! There's also a lot of indication/talk on whether she likes Shinich/Conan or not. So， things do get interesting in the ongoing love-triangles.
She always quite， calm， and mysterious.

A genius theif who is also a worthy rival and enemy of Conan/Shinichi. I guess it shouldn't be that much of a surprise since he looks almost identical to Shinichi. He loves to steal things that are hard to get (especially jewelry) and doesn't mind in dwelling into risky adventures along the way. Will he ever get caught by Conan/Shinichi? We may never know.

Detective Conan has long been translated into many different languages (Thai， Chinese and Spanish for example) but it wasn't until 2004 that an English language version was made available. The English Conan is produced and called 'Case Closed'. It airs on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. Many of the names have been changed: Shinichi Kudo is now Jimmy Kudo， Ran Mouri is now Rachel Moore， and so on. Viz is putting out the manga (with the new name changes) and the first DVD has come out (with sub and dub options).
Of course since it took so long for Conan to be licensed it will be a while before the English version catches up with the Japanese. But don't despair! If you wish to read on ahead and get to some of the really juicy storylines then there is a chance. Many fans translated the manga early on and there are a number of sites offering Detective Conan translated either simply as text to compliment the original manga or as manga scans; that is: the original manga scanned in and the Japanese wiped out and replaced with English. Why do we like Shinichi?
The reason is， from our interpretation of the series， Shinichi， yes， is handsome， clever and cool， and this is enough to arouse the most. However， most would not notice he actually having problems with socialization， even voluntary， that caused him to be.
1.Marginalized in the classroom， if not the society， fame not considered; 2.He is actually desocialized， and， worse， he thinks there's no problem in that.
This was an expected -- yet unexpected -- conclusion. Here I should put forward the evidence why I said so， and explain why it is so.

Conclusion
In this essay we have attempted to analyse Shinichi Kudo‘s characters and his favours， by the method of “developmental analysis” -- that is， analyse through his past events and the environment he was grown up， at least the way I am perceived to have. As a deduction geek living alone， he actually was probably marginalized at school; and that was a gradual progress -- he was not that at his earlier ages， and， actually， things that were set at that period -- most importantly， Ran and soccer -- became quite an exception for his case.
Regardless of the nationality and history，we wish Japanese who suffer form earthquake spend the obstacle at an early date.
